Pakistani teenager Aitzaz Hasan died Monday after tackling a suicide bomber trying to enter his school. By sacrificing himself, he saved the lives of the 2,000 students studying inside. Hasan’s father says, ”My son made his mother cry, but saved hundreds of mothers from crying for their children.”
This is bravery. This is selflessness. This is true courage.

why isnt this all over the worlds newspapers this is truly amazing!!!!!

Okay so let me tell you the short version for why this isn’t all over the news. The more you publicize events like this the more they happen

So I cried on the train yesterday. Twice. I cried on both of them.

future-kaiju:

It wasn’t completely sad crying though. There was some crying on the walk to the train station too. Half of it was definitely “I’m gonna miss everyone,” but the other part was just being really happy about how all the goodbyes went I think. It was a good day.

I got to say goodbye again to everybody during homeroom, and my teacher gave me some postcards and then everyone clapped for me. (And then one my classmates gave me a cool present but I didn’t open that til I got home.) Two of my classmates gave me a half letter half water colour collage of things we did together, which was super sweet, and one of my best friends here wrote me a letter that she made me promise not to read til I got home. I read it on the 2nd train home though, because her reasoning was that she wanted to talk to me one last time and it would take me forever to read the kanji. It made me cry a bit. I also had to say goodbye to her at lunch because she’s the only one of my classmates that doesn’t have drama in 3rd on Thursdays.

They did a run through in drama so I sat and watched and talk to one of the girls in my class(and traded favourite bands with her) and then another girl who gave me the sweetest goodbye present a few days ago and I wanted to say goodbye to properly when neither of us had to get off a train in 30 seconds. After the class I took a couple pictures with people and another classmate gave me her contact information and said that when I become a movie director and she’s a graphic designer we should make something together. Once I got to the classroom I said bye to more people and even some of the guys wished me well and whatnot.

As I was leaving the school I had a weirdly movie montage-y moment because the song that started playing on my iPod(which I have no control over because I can’t turn the screen on anymore after it turns off) was all instrumental and bittersweet and then I took some pictures of the school cos I hadn’t yet and as I was leaving someone yelled my name and when I turned around there were a bunch of classmates waving at me through one of the windows of a walkway between buildings. The song changed pretty much exactly when I left school property too which was extra weird.

Okay, that’s what happened on my last day of school, now I’m leaving the house with my host parents (sister has school) to go to Tokyo station, leave them and go with exchange people, make a speech, get a certificate, sleep, and then get on a plane. See you guys soon!
